Story

Cyberneticist Tamuka Yeukai devoted his entire life to saving his chronically ill brother, Tatenda. When conventional medicine failed, he crossed an unforgivable line, sacrificing the lives of many to preserve the one. Condemned by Tatenda and imprisoned in Watchpoint: Grímsvötn for his crimes, he remained behind bars for decades—until an old ally engineered his escape, unleashing him back into the world.

OGUNDIMU SYNERGIES

From the very beginning, Tamuka’s life was defined by loss. Orphaned at a young age, his only family left was his younger brother, Tatenda, who suffered from a rare degenerative disease. Fearful of losing the one person he still had, Tamuka devoted himself to finding a way to spare his brother from pain and untimely demise. Hearing of Elaine Esat's achievements in the field of cybernetic engineering, he studied her methods in pursuit of a solution to his woes. As he became a gifted engineer himself, he was hired by Ogundimu Synergies, where his development was supported by Yejide Ogundimu. With each breakthrough in his research, he quietly obsessed over a single question: Could cybernetic evolution be used to reject the inevitability of death?

GRAVE DEVOTION

During the Omnic Crisis, Tamuka designed a replacement limb for Yejide's teenage son, Akande, who'd lost his as a casualty of the conflict. But this would be his final contribution as Chief Engineer of Ogundimu Synergies, for he would leave the company behind when an explosion from the escalating conflict put his brother's life in danger. Though his brother had long since accepted death as a natural part of life, Tamuka refused to lose him. He channeled his efforts into increasingly radical cybernetic experiments, developing a technology capable of siphoning life from external sources to transfer to a host. His initial experiments were successful, but they came at a cost: it was evident that to make any true progress, he would need more sources to (siphon) from. Out of desperation and love, he unleashed his invention in swarms upon a nearby Crisis refugee camp, taking the lives of all its inhabitants to grant Tatenda the vitality required for a life unhindered by illness.

WATCHPOINT: GRIMSVÖTN

Ecstatic to be his brother's savior, Tamuka reveled in overcoming death itself. But Tatenda was anything but thankful. Horrified by the atrocities his brother committed, he denounced him and turned him in to Overwatch. Tamuka was sentenced to spend the rest of his days in Watchpoint: Grímsvötn, where he would he would be forced to suffer the passage of time and all its ill effects.

Decades later, his salvation came in the form of Akande Ogundimu, who'd long since taken on the role of Doomfist. Doomfist and his allies staged a jailbreak, reuniting Tamuka with his drone technology, allowing him to restore his youth and rewrite the doctrine of his destiny.
