With less than a week to go until the launch of Overwatch, our celebrity teams are getting ready for the ultimate showdown. With glory and bragging rights on the line, two teams of athletes, celebrities, and YouTubers will face off against each other in exciting live Overwatch All-Stars matches in the UK and the Netherlands!
At the Oval Space in East London on May 25, it’ll be Team Sports versus Team Entertainers. The two world class footballers, Everton FC’s and Spain’s U21 captain Gerard Deulofeu and Arsenal FC and England star Kelly Smith MBE, will be joined by influencers including Ali-A, Vikkstar 123, Slogoman, and Mantrousse to form the unstoppable Team Sports squad.
They’ll battle a team fronted by famous comedian and actor Rufus Hound and icon Jamal Edwards MBE, backed by Lalna and Sjin from The Yogscast, Moreconsole, and PlayStation Access’ very own Hollie Bennett. Together they make up Team Entertainers, hoping to show the world how they shine in Overwatch.
The members of both teams have trained hard in the beta and promise an exciting match at the live Overwatch All-Stars London event, in which they’ll strive to take down their rivals and prove who the real heroes are!
The challenge is also on in the Netherlands, where Team Yarasky will face off against Team TheDutchTerms in Utrecht on May 30. Yarasky has recruited Twitch streamer Nysira to bolster his ranks, as well as Praga from Belgium gaming website 9Lives, Sven from GameMania Netherlands, Willie Wartaal from De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, and Ado The Hague football player Ruben Schaken.
Joining TheDutchTerms will be LowkoTV, alongside Ajax Amsterdam player Nemanj Gudelj, Shelly of the television show Gamekings, Faberyayo from De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, and Tom from GameMania Belgium.
A limited number of tickets to the live Overwatch All-Stars events will be available through social media—be sure to follow our celebrity players’ channels and keep an eye on the #OverwatchAllStars hashtag for a chance to snag a spot. In addition to watching the matches live, event attendees will be able to win some loot in activities like costume contests and giveaways.
A total of nine Overwatch All-Stars events are being held across Europe, and you’ll be able to catch the action of each of the matches online. We hope you’re hyped!
