From today until July 28, 8-bit Sombra is glitching the system, and she’s not holding back. Hacks & Hijinx is a limited time, 6v6 mode where Control matches get warped and weird. With a random pair of modifiers activated each round, you’ll need to rethink your comp, your cooldowns, and maybe your definition of sanity.
Adapt or Get Steamrolled
One round, you’re floating through the air with low gravity... the next, health packs are charging your Ultimate, melee punches launch enemies across the map, and crouching turns you invisible. It’s Overwatch 2 glitched out, and nothing is safe from the chaos Sombra is sowing. There’s no meta here—just fast, funny, and full-on ridiculous modifiers.
Every round in Hacks & Hijinx comes with two random match modifiers, which stack and twist gameplay in surprising ways. You won’t know what you’re walking into until the round begins, so stay on your toes and be wary of digital sabotage.
And don’t worry about sweating the win-loss screen. This mode is built for experimentation, laughs, and the kind of “what just happened?!” moments you’ll still be questioning three games later.
Match Modifiers in Rotation
Here’s a look at the mayhem you might encounter each round:
- MINI MAXING – All Heroes are 50% smaller. Health reduced by 30%. Tiny terror.
- LIE LOW – Crouch to cloak. Stay invisible until you act (or get too close).
- FIRED UP – On Fire = power boost. More damage/healing and faster cooldowns, but you’re visible to everyone.
- CHARGE PACK – Health packs also charge your Ultimate. Yes, seriously.
- POWER PUNCH – Quick melee knocks enemies back. Good luck grouping up.
- VAMPIRIC HEALING – No passive HP regen; life steal is everyone’s lifeline.
- AERIAL COMBAT – Gravity drops, mid-air damage dealt and received spikes by 50%. Fly and fry.
- BACK IN ACTION – Respawn time reduced for faster returns (except during Overtime).
- BERSERKERS – No regen, but for every 10% HP lost, attack speed + cooldown reduction jumps 6%. Rage mode.
- SUPER JUMP – Launch 200% higher. Vertical chaos incoming.
- MOTION DETECTION – Moving enemies within 25m visible through walls. Crouch to stay hidden.
- EXPLOSIVE – Everyone explodes on death. Splash damage, meet splash damage.
- HYPER SPEED – Everyone moves 30% faster. Slide into danger.
- BUFF HUNT – One random Hero is buffed every minute with increased HP, damage, and Ultimate charge speed. Take them down to steal the buff.
- DAMAGE PACK – Health packs now grant +20% damage for 10–20 seconds (or until death).
- FALLEN COMRADE – Allies drop globes on death that boost damage, armor, and movement speed when collected.
Modifiers rotate every round and always come in pairs, so no match plays the same way twice by design. You’ll need quick reflexes, team coordination, and a willingness to embrace the absurdity.
